Stade Toulousian

Toulouse is home to one of the best rugby teams in France so of course I had to go to a game! The atmosphere was fun and energetic, but relatively calm compared to say a Rider or a NFL game. The opposing fans would clap politely when there adversary scored and kept there opposing colors subdued until sitting in there seats. The concessions served Heineken, pop, baguette sandwiches, Pringles and chocolate bars. No one seemed to be eating in the stands, no sunflower seeds being flicked and NO  drunken fat man spilling his beer on you. Just a crowd of people who were very focused on the match, enjoying some Heini, and each others well dressed company.

The men were mostly sporting an array of pea coats, with hints of small logged threads colored in the Toulousian rouge et noir. The occasional one would be wearing there teams kit (uniform / jersey). All face paint, hair ribbons, flags and horns were mostly worn by the children, but don’t get me wrong even the kids were looking sharp.

Swag

Now lets talk about the players shall we? Most of them were massive chunks of men, with jaw bones for necks and heads the size of my VW. There were a few peacocks, you know... the ones with the nice hair and not yet mangled faces, who strut about with the typical pro athlete swagger. Nothing out of the ordinary, jocks don't really do it for me though.
