Okay so Park Guell is a UNESCO World Heritage site with the peculiar architecture of Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi, for me was like the sugar coting of Barcelona, his buildings are so detailed, colourful and intricate. A "candy land" style of architecture lets call it. As for the park it self, it was originally supposed to be an upscale housing development in 1900. Designed to harmoniously combine nature and the city in a living environment, inspired by an English garden. The project failed and only a few show homes were ever built. The park however is GORGEOUS. You will feel like you are in "Whoville" and in an Indiana Jones movie, all at once.
So many painstaking details on every aspect of all the buildings, roofs chimneys door ways...
Little Spanish babies going on a field trip, how darling, they looked like turtles from far away.
Who doesn't love to play in the dirt?
"No I don't think I'll leave the house today or ...ever you see, I live in a place called paradise..."
I can't even describe the view this family must have.
Gaudi's family home complete with an, I want to call it, "enchanted garden walkway" (so I shall) that you can see below.
More amazing tile work...
