Paris

Its nice to be back in France, even though I will only be here until Sunday!

My partners in crime and I have all been to Paris before, so we did not partake in all of the traditional tourist activities... thank god. I don't know if I even like tourist attractions anymore... I much prefer to wander around leisurely, and stumble upon things like "Bad Boys Road".

When one has been in Europe for four months, you are allowed to go to American restaurants and enjoy them. I almost died when the waiter refilled my AMERICAN coffee with out having to be asked.

I miss my book shelf.

I don't particularly love the scent, but I adore the ad campaign.

Paris couldn't decide if she wanted to be rainy or sunny...

Yum, Vietnamese.

A Dieu,

Brussels

Space Invader ? Is that you?

Did you know that, "French" fries are originally from Belgium. So, in search for  the "real deal" we turned to the guide books and wound up here?

Which is clearly the most sanitary kitchen I've ever eaten from, in my life.

The fries turned out to be pretty delicious in the end and I'm still alive.

We also tried really hard to enjoy some beer

But I don't even think this counts : (

On Tap

We took a day trip to Bruges, which is about an hour train ride from Brussels. Its like your walking around in a Disney movie. Everything that is not a castle, is mini and darling. Little shops, little doors, little houses, little windows and little old ladies out for walks....

I can't even comment on the chocolate, my mouth starts to water...

Oh and lastly, Belgian Waffles are to die for, and taste nothing like the ones we eat in Canada.

Ciao, Ciao
See you in Paris

Berlin

So when I initially thought of Germany, the first things that popped into my mind were WW2, beer and sausage.
None of which exactly scream "fun!"

But Berlin is a truly amazing city and I could not say that with more sincerity.

How to describe Berlin... she's most definitely a brunette, with brown eyes. Her heart has been shattered but she's sewn it back together with the most beautiful scar tissue. She sports buildings that are cut in old patterns but made with the most modern of fabrics. She doesn't wear vintage, she's a modern girl, but she respects and remembers the past. She accessorises with heirlooms that have been passed on through the generations, but she also likes the occasional piece, hot off the runway.  She has a large scar down the centre of her torso, but its been tattooed with so many images that it looks more like a story.

She is young and vivacious, with a wise old, soul.

I 'm positive you would adore her if you ever met.

The Brandenburg Gate

As per the designers, architect Peter Eisenman and engineer Buro Happold, signs telling people what this is, should not be necessary, because they will just know.

{Insert your own perspective here}

This building was originally the Nazi Germany, Ministry of Aviation (strategically not bombed in WW11). Now, it is the German Ministry of Finance, situated in central Berlin. The Berlin wall ran just behind it separating, the East from the West.

But life goes on and people drive giraffe print cars...
Suddenly whats old is new again, and so on and so forth.

Vodka soaked gummy bears, a hostel life delicacy.

We went to this cool pub where each table had its own draft tower in the centre of it. Then on a big screen at the front of the bar, it had an up to the minute, interactive score board.  All of the tables had there own name and were ranked according to had who poured the most amount of beer from the tower. You are given one pint glass, per guest, by the waitress upon arrival. You can also order all your own food, cocktails and even make jukebox selections from the screen.

One of the best marketing ploys I've seen in a while.

"Lets have a contest! You have to drink as much beer as humanly possible and then pay us for every drop! And best of all, the winner gets all the glory of being the drunkest asshole in the bar! Hip, Hip, Horay!"

Berlin on bike, the best way to do it!
